consonantic
The adjective consonant has two meanings in linguistic research:
- From an articulatory point of view , it denotes the main mode of articulation ( consonant ).
- From a phonological point of view, it is a binary distinguishing feature [± cons.] In contrast to vowel [± vok.] (See also Contoid ).
