Friederike Schmöe

Friederike Schmöe (* 1967 in Coburg ) is a German linguist and crime writer .

Life

From 1986, Schmöe studied Romance and German at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . After graduating in 1993, she stayed in Bamberg as an assistant and lecturer in German linguistics / German as a foreign language. Her doctorate in 1999 was followed by her habilitation in German linguistics in 2003 . Since 2003 she has worked as a private lecturer at the University of Bamberg and since 2005 as a lecturer at the University of Saarland .

Friederike Schmöe is a member of the author groups Das Syndikat and Murderous Sisters .

reception

In addition to her scientific work, Schmöe writes several detective novels . The setting of her stories about the private detective Katinka Palfy is the cathedral city of Bamberg , in the Bavarian capital of Munich the ghostwriter Kea Laverde is involved in criminal cases. In 2006 she was nominated for the Carinthian Crime Prize for her story Silberdrache . In 2014 she received the bronze Homer for the short story The Maid's Secret Knowledge .
