Konstantina Kouneva ( Greek Κωνσταντίνα Κούνεβα , born September 28, 1964 in Silistra ) is a Bulgarian - Greek politician of the Synaspismos Rizospastikis Aristeras and a trade unionist .

Life

During the riots in Greece in 2008 , Kouneva was the victim of an acid attack. It was not until December 23, 2009, exactly one year after the attack, that she was released from the hospital. Kouneva has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There she is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs , in the delegation in the committees for parliamentary cooperation EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan, EU-Uzbekistan and EU-Tajikistan as well as for relations with Turkmenistan and Mongolia.

Kouneva is a Bulgarian migrant, single mother and activist of the base union of cleaners in the greater Athens area (PEKOP).
