A contact sauna , often also referred to as a sauna club , combines the use of a sauna with the initiation or implementation of sexual contacts . The term is mainly used for saunas used by heterosexuals ; The naming and usage behavior of the so-called gay saunas differ in some points.

In some contact saunas there are freelance prostitutes , in some they are employed (then they are colloquially called brothel saunas). Contact saunas are also visited by people without financial interests.
