Initial discussion

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A preliminary discussion is a discussion with which a common business basis is to be explored or created. If the result of this conversation is positive, the actual negotiation can build on it or a business relationship can follow directly .

Examples of an initial meeting are:

  • The conversation between a prostitute and a (potential) client with the main purpose of arousing interest in a business relationship.
  • Conversation between a broker and potential buyers or sellers to determine whether there is an interest in buying or selling.
  • The initial meeting between a lawyer and a potential client to find out whether a mandate can come about.
  • Conversation between an employee of a news service and a potential source in order to create trust, clarify access to information and prepare an advertisement. The member of the intelligence service can also appear under the legend . The initial discussion can take place in the real world or in social networks .
