Account clarification

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Through an account clarification in the statutory pension insurance , all insurance periods of the insured person should be saved in his personal account. It creates the prerequisite for benefits from the statutory pension insurance (e.g. rehabilitation and pensions) to be granted.

definition

The pension insurance provider keeps an insurance account for each insured person, which is sorted according to the insurance number. The data required for the implementation of the insurance as well as the determination and provision of benefits including the pension information are to be stored in the insurance account. An insurance account may also be kept for persons who are not insured in accordance with the provisions of this book, insofar as it is necessary for the determination of the insurance or contribution obligation and for audits at employers ( Section 28p of the fourth book of the Social Security Code (SGB IV)).

General

Whether working, unemployed or sick - in the course of life the most varied of pension law periods come together. The German pension system stores them in personal insurance account. The full insurance account is the basis for calculating the pension due later. In addition to the name, address and date of birth of the insured person, all periods of pension law are saved as far as they are known to the pension insurance. The remuneration for which employers pay contributions are automatically saved in the account.

However, it can happen that, despite the automatic transmission, pension-relevant times are not listed in the account and thus there are gaps in the insurance biography.

So z. B. the recognition of school periods or child-rearing periods can be applied for, as these are not reported automatically. It is also possible that times before 1972 are not yet saved in the account, as there was no automatic data transfer at that time.

If there are missing periods in the insurance history, the information that is not available can be supplemented by clarifying the account.

The account clarification is the basis for checking the waiting time , which in turn is part of the requirements for the granting of a benefit from the statutory pension insurance.

An application for account clarification should therefore be submitted in good time. If an account clarification has never been carried out before your 43rd birthday, the pension insurance institution initiates the account clarification automatically.

Get performance faster

If there is a benefit case (e.g. payment of a pension due to reduced earning capacity ), after an account clarification with the German pension insurance, all documents are available in full and the amount of benefits can be determined quickly. The granting of benefits can thereby be accelerated.

Submit evidence in good time

If evidence and certificates are still required for the times to be verified, there is a greater chance of obtaining them if the accounts are clarified early. Otherwise the necessary evidence could no longer be provided, for example due to retention periods .

According to Section 149, Paragraph 4 of Book Six of the Social Code (SGB VI), insured persons are obliged to help clarify the insurance account, in particular to check the insurance history for correctness and completeness, to state all facts relevant to the account clarification and to provide the necessary documents and other evidence .

Notice of assessment

The German pension insurance decides on the requested times and adds them to the insurance account. The insured person then receives a notification of assessment with which all times that are more than six years ago are bindingly established. Binding means here that the pension insurance company will assume that the insurance account has been saved in full and that no further investigations into possible absences are required. Nevertheless, the pension insurance agency is legally obliged to take into account evidence submitted in retrospect for periods under pension law.
