Cricket World Cup 1992
The 1992 ICC Cricket World Cup , which was held in Australia and New Zealand from February 22 to March 25, 1992 , was the fifth Cricket World Cup . The World Cup will be played in the One-Day International format, with each team playing one innings over a maximum of 50 overs . In the final, Pakistan defeated the team from England .
Attendees
In addition to the seven nations with test status, South Africa and Zimbabwe were qualified as participants. For the team from South Africa it was the first participation in a World Cup after it was not a member of the ICC between 1961 and 1991 and got its test status back one month after the tournament. Zimbabwe, which prevailed at the ICC Trophy 1990, also received its test status in the same year:

Innovations
At this World Cup, colored jerseys, white balls and floodlights were used for the first time. The introduced rain rule, which was supposed to fix the problems of the old system when it rains, was considered unsuccessful after the tournament. The main trigger for this was the semi-finals between England and South Africa.
