Cricket World Cup 1975

The 1975 ICC Cricket World Cup , which took place in England from June 7 to 21, 1975 , was the first Cricket World Cup . This World Cup was held in the One-Day International format, with each team playing one innings over a maximum of 60 overs . In the final, West Indies defeated the Australian team .

In two preliminary round groups with four teams each, everyone played against each other, with a win bringing four points, a tie or no result two points. The first two of this group qualified for the semi-finals, the winners of which played the final. In total there were 15 encounters.
