The Manuka Oval is a stadium in the Australian capital of Canberra . It is located in the Griffith district and has space for 15,000 spectators (including 10,000 seats). Numerous games take place throughout the year, mainly cricket in the summer months and Australian football in the winter months. A special feature is that the Kangaroos Football Club from Melbourne plays three home games here every year.

Construction began in 1929 and included, among other things, the erection of a fence and the leveling of the ground. The site had previously been used for rugby league and Australian football games. The first cricket match took place in April. Over the years, the site has been expanded into a full-fledged stadium. In 2004 the 75th anniversary was celebrated.

The traditional cricket match of the Prime Minister's XI takes place here every year ; an Australian selection personally compiled by the Prime Minister plays against a foreign team. In 1992 the One-Day International between South Africa and Zimbabwe was held here on the occasion of the Cricket World Cup .
