The concert hall (also Konzerthaus ) in Swiss Solothurn is a concert hall , where is listed regularly choral and instrumental music.

location

The concert hall is located north of Solothurn's old town, where the mighty jumps once stood. It is located at Untere Steingrubenstrasse 1 in the northern green belt of the city, near the art museum .

architecture

The building was designed by the Swiss architect Alexander Koch in 1896. The National Museum in Zurich served as a template ; the local architectural style shapes the appearance of the building. In 2004 the building was restored . After its completion, the concert hall and the art museum became the two new cultural centers of Solothurn.

A total of two rooms are available inside for concerts , seminars and lectures : the large concert hall with an area of ​​210 m² and an audience capacity of 590 people and the small concert hall with an area of ​​130 m² and an audience capacity of 200 people. In the entrance area also lies the foyer .

Events

The concert hall has been used as a venue for the Solothurn Film Festival since 1990 .
