Kopskiekel wine

Kopskiekelwein was currant wine in East Prussia .

It was made with black or red currants and mixed with sugar yeast , e.g. B. with Burgundy yeast fermented. Those who enjoyed it too much went "kopskiekel" - upside down or "kopeister". Popular taverns were the forester's house in Moditten and the Vierbrüderkrug in Metgethen .
