Kore. Ydro. is a rock-pop band from the Greek island of Corfu .

history

Kore. Ydro. was founded in autumn 1993 by 15-year-old classmates Pantelis Dimitriadis, Giorgos Arvanitakis and Spiros Katagis in Corfu . Konstantinos Amygdalos joined the group in 1997 and Spiros Katagis left the group in 2000. Alexandros Makris joined in 2001.

Her first profits were "no-fi" home recordings , strange live performances, unprocessed video clips and humorous short films. Her first self-produced and official debut album If All Ever Ended Here (Αν Όλα Τέλειωναν Εδώ) was released in March 2003 by the Greek label Wipeout Records with a circulation of 515 copies. Seven Months Later (Εφτά Μήνες Μετά), a free downloadable mini-album, went online six months later.

In February 2004 the first official music video, which was also produced by the band and was scheduled for the song Your Kindness (Η Καλοσύνη Σου), was broadcast.

Almost three years after the release of their debut album and some postponements, Kore released. Ydro. their second album Cheap Pop for the Elite (Φτηνή Ποπ για την Ελίτ) on a new label ( Capitol / EMI ).

The title of the album refers to the self-proclaimed "new post-erotic, post-Christian, post-communist , post-progressive, post-post-punk manifesto" of the band. The album was recorded in the band's home studio in Corfu by Pantelis, Alexandros and the three new members, drummer Alexis Apostolidis and guitarists Spiros Spirakos and Nickos Varotsis, before the contract with EMI . As a result, Giorgos and Konstantinos were released from their musical duties and could concentrate on the band's artwork activities, which had been their main tasks from the start.

The album received enthusiastic reviews in the Greek press and the first single No More Affairs [Όχι πια Έρωτες] with the accompanying video, which in turn was produced by the band, was a great success.

In March 2006 Kore gave their first live performance. Ydro. at Club Gagarin 205, in Athens . At the same time it was already official that there would be a collaboration with the bass player Panagiotis Diamantis, who was responsible for the second video of Cheap Pop for the Elite , for the song Now that I Do not Have Anyone (Τώρα που δεν Έχω Κανέναν - published: 06.2006), directed. The video directed by the band for the song The Lovers of Nothing (Οι Εραστές του Τίποτα) followed in November 2006. In the same month, Cheap Pop for the Elite by the music magazine SONIK (issue 22) became the “most important Greek album to date of the decade ”.

On April 16, 2009 the new album The whole Truth about the Children of '78 (Όλη η Αλήθεια για τα Παιδιά του '78) was released and is thus the third studio album so far.
