Korotschun (festival)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Korotschun ( Russian Корочун , Slovak Kračún) is the Slavic festival of the winter solstice . The name may come from the word korotko for short (the shortest day of the year). Another theory traces the name back to the Romanian term for Christmas - crâciun.
