Correction roller
A correction roller is a small plastic office device for covering text passages and the like. Ä. by means of a narrow adhesive tape in white color.
There are correction rollers with an interchangeable roller and without (disposable).
Precursors are correction fluids and the built-in lift-off correction tape in early electric typewriters. In contrast to correction fluids, the covered areas can be written on immediately and are odorless.
The first correction roller to be mass-produced and marketed came from the Japanese manufacturer SEED and has been sold since September 1985.
Well-known manufacturers in Germany are Pritt , Tipp-Ex (Mini Pocket Mouse) , Tesa and Pelikan .
functionality
The device is placed on the text and pulled with light pressure in one direction over the area to be covered. A thin, self-adhesive plastic strip is unrolled and detached from a carrier tape of the same length. The carrier film is taken up in a tape winder by means of a mechanism (gears).
