Pritt
Pritt is a brand for adhesives of the Henkel Group based in Düsseldorf . The term Prittstift has advanced to a generic name in Germany and is also used in common parlance for comparable products from other manufacturers.
history
In 1969, the Henkel company invented the world's first glue stick . The "unscrewing mechanism" and handling of lipsticks served as a model .
Since the first glue stick hit the market, Henkel has sold more than 2.5 billion copies in 121 countries.
The design of the Pritt glue stick has only changed insignificantly over the years. It is characterized by a red case with a black rotary knob and a white printed logo. For a short time, refillable sleeves with inserts that could be bought later were also available, which were recognizable by a green rotary wheel.
Manufacturing
When it comes to the Pritt stick, the manufacturer attaches great importance to ecological compatibility and product safety, especially since the glue stick is often used by children. It is solvent-free , PVC- free and complies with the European Toy Directive . Adhesive residues on clothing can be washed out at low temperatures.
In 2000, Henkel replaced the petroleum-based adhesives used until then with those based on starch.
The Pritt product portfolio now includes a wide range of adhesives, correction products, adhesive films and fixings.
