The Kortum fountain by Karl Ehlers is located on the church hill at the Petrikirche in the old town of Mülheim an der Ruhr . On it is a figure from the Jobsiade by Carl Arnold Kortum .

The fountain was built in front of the Petrikirche in 1938/39, as Kortum's birthplace was nearby. The fountain was destroyed in a bomb attack on the night of June 22nd to 23rd, 1943, and the bronze statue of Job was supposed to be melted down. After the war it was found in a Hamburg bell cemetery and placed in a green area on the corner of Bachstrasse and Friedrichstrasse. In 2006 the Association for the Promotion of Mülheim's Old Town decided to reconstruct the fountain at the old site with the help of donations. In memory of the donors, four round bronze plates with their names were cast, which were laid at ground level in front of the fountain. In 2011, metal thieves stole these memorial plaques. Since the original designs were found, the panels could be poured and relocated again. In 2015 the column was contaminated with washable blue paint.
