Kosmas Lars Thielmann

Kosmas Lars Thielmann OCist (* 1966 in Essen ) is a German university professor and theologian .

Life

Thielmann studied Catholic theology, law and medicine in Bochum and Cologne. As a member of the DFG Research Training Group "Ethics in Science" at the Interdepartmental Center for Ethics in the Sciences of the Eberhard Karls University of Tuebingen and during research at the Center for Ethics in Managed Care of Harvard Medical School and the Department of Philosophy of Tufts University wrote he wrote the thesis Ethical Foundations of Priority Setting in Health Care , with which he was awarded a Dr. theol. received his doctorate . He was a research assistant at the Academy for Technology Assessment in Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart and held teaching positions at the Universities of Tübingen and Zurich and at the University of Applied Sciences Esslingen . Since 2003 he has been a monk of the Cistercian Abbey Stift Heiligenkreuz , where he also teaches as a professor of moral theology at the University of Heiligenkreuz .
