The monument to Claus Kröncke

The Kröncke monument is a memorial in honor of the chief construction director Claus Kröncke in Groß-Rohrheim (Hesse). It was created by the Darmstadt court sculptor Philipp Johann Joseph Scholl and erected in 1836, while Kröncke was still alive, north of the village on the road to Klein-Rohrheim .

The community of Groß-Rohrheim thanked him according to the inscription "the acquisition of tax exemptions - indivisibility of the Huben goods - tithes of sheep pastures and basic rents". Nonetheless, it was not until the law of March 2, 1850 that the compulsory labor was replaced and the peasants' free property was created.
