The Hospital of the Barmherzigen Brüder Trier ( Brothers Hospital for short ) is a hospital run by the Barmherzigen Brothers von Maria-Hilf .

The history of the hospital began in 1889 with the first building on the site of the monastery of the Brothers of Mercy of Maria-Hilf. Today around 2,400 people work in the brothers' hospital.

The Brothers Hospital has been one of five emergency medical centers in Rhineland-Palatinate since May 2006 and is one of the largest hospitals in this region. As a center of care for the entire Trier region, it currently has 632 beds. Every year, 27,000 inpatients and around 50,000 outpatients are cared for. It has 15 specialist medical departments at the latest scientific and technological level as well as specialists for rare diseases. In medical competence centers, the patient is cared for centrally and in an interdisciplinary collaboration between different departments. A patient information center is available to all interested parties for research, information and discussions on all aspects of health, illness and prevention and treatment. The hospital of the Barmherzigen Brüder Trier is a facility of the BBT group . The clinic is the academic teaching hospital of the University of Mainz .
