The KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH (formerly KraussMaffei Berstorff) is a German company headquartered in Hanover . It belongs to the KraussMaffei Group . In 1998 the Munich company took over the majority of the shares in Berstorff GmbH. In 2007, KraussMaffei bundled all of the company's extrusion activities under the new KraussMaffei Berstorff brand . On July 3, 2019, the name was changed from KraussMaffei Berstorff to KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH.
history
The inventor and designer Hermann Berstorff (1846–1934) founded the company Hermann Berstorff Maschinenbauanstalt in Hanover in 1897 . He produced tube machines, screw presses and later rolling mills. Due to the strong demand, the company relocated within Hanover in 1901. In 1919, today's company premises were acquired, where the first hall was built in 1937.
During the Second World War, around 60% of the company buildings were destroyed in bomb attacks, which were mainly aimed at the nearby refineries ( Deurag-Nerag ) and the Misburg cement industry .
The merger with KraussMaffei Technologies took place in 1994. Since 2007, Berstorff GmbH has been operating under the new name KraussMaffei Berstorff GmbH.
Various stakeholder changes took place in the following years. In January 2016, the KraussMaffei Group was taken over by ChemChina for € 925 million.
Since July 2019, all previous business brands (KraussMaffei Technologies, KraussMaffei Berstorff and Netstal) have been merged into a single brand, KraussMaffei. KraussMaffei has also been listed on the Chinese stock exchange since the end of 2018.
Today KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH is one of the world's leading suppliers of extrusion systems for the production and processing of plastics and rubber. In addition to single and twin screw extruders, calenders and rolling mills, the sales program also includes complete production lines for the plastics and rubber processing industry.
KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH employs around 800 people worldwide, 730 of them at the headquarters in Hanover and a further 70 in Germany, Russia, the People's Republic of China and the USA.
Products
Extrusion systems from KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH are used in plastics processing: as degassing extruders, for compounding , for pipe, profile, film and sheet extrusion , the physical foaming of plastics and for the production of technical rubber articles and semi-finished tires . KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH's customers include companies in the chemical, automotive, construction, packaging and pharmaceutical industries.
