Kremer test

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kremer test is a test method that checks whether sperm can survive in the cervical mucus and are mobile if the desire to have children is unfulfilled . The Kremer test is also known as the sperm-cervical mucus penetration test (SCMPT), or in English as the sperm-cervical mucus contact test (SCMC test), or the sperm penetration meter test (SPM test).

On the day of ovulation , cervical mucus and a semen sample are taken. In the laboratory, the survivability and mobility of the sperm in the cervical mucus is tested by comparing the mobility of a sperm sample without cervical mucus with a sample in the cervical mucus under the microscope. The microscopic examination is repeated after 2, 4 and 24 hours.
