Kremlin astrology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Kremlin astrology , Kremlinology or "Kremlinologie" designated Western observers during the Cold War attempts by Western intelligence agencies , journalists or other experts, the power structures in the management levels of the Soviet Union to recognize and predict their decisions.

For observers at the time, the CPSU Central Committee, which met non-publicly in the Kremlin and kept its decisions secret, acted as a secret center of power. Because it was difficult and often flawed to make predictions about his decisions, media reports used the derisive term Kremlin astrology . Since astrology fascinates many people, but does not work empirically and scientifically and is often wrong, this expressed reservations about these predictions.

Today this term is sometimes used as a metaphor for predicting events in opaque political leadership circles.
