Cumin oil (also cumin oil , Roman caraway oil , oleum cumini ) is the essential oil of cumin .
The cumin oil has the characteristic smell of the cumin .

The cumin oil is light yellow, very thin and consists of cuminol (the aldehyde of cumic alcohol) and the hydrocarbon cymene . About 3% yield of cumin oil is obtained from the fruits.
