The Way of the Cross in Trittenheim is a pilgrimage route through the vineyards, modeled on the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Way of the Cross consists of 14 stations (7 pairs), begins on the Mosel Wine Route and ends at the Laurentius Chapel .

history

At the end of the Second World War , the Laurentiuskapelle regained greater involvement in the religious life of the community. The inauguration of the Way of the Cross from the village to the chapel in 1947 also contributed to this. The cathedral capitular Kaspar Kranz, who was born in Trittenheim, consecrated this in August 1947, thus restoring the tradition of a way of the cross from the village to the Laurentius chapel (formerly through the street “Kreuzweg”).
