nature
The Schmalenberg monument is designed as a memorial and differs in its presentation from the usual monuments of this type in the form of soldiers with helmets and cloaks. A resting young woman can be seen on a sandstone substructure on the steep slope in front of the Protestant church, leaning against an urn . She wears a sad expression and is dressed in a barely veiled robe. The words: "To the dead in memory - to the living as a reminder" are carved on the base.
