War equipment certificate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The war equipment certificate (KAN) was a detailed list in the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS , which represented the entire equipment of a unit.

Due to the high losses of the Wehrmacht and the resulting replacement problems during the Second World War , as well as due to changed tactics , it was updated regularly. During the war, the units mostly never reached their equipment target.

The structure, the personnel strength, as well as the number of weapons and vehicles of a unit was regulated in the war strength report (KStN).

The Bundeswehr calls its regulations (derived from the KStN and KAN) strength and equipment verification (StAN).
