The war memorial for 1815 was donated on April 2, 1816 by the Senate of the Free City of Frankfurt . It could be awarded to officers and men from the area of ​​the city of Frankfurt who had made outstanding contributions during the wars of liberation .

The medal is a silver medal with a Frankfurt eagle looking to the right on the front, the chest of which is adorned with an F. In the center of the back, enclosed by a palm and a laurel wreath , the words FRANKFURTS STREITERN IM BUNDE 1815 can be read.

The award was worn on a 37 mm wide red ribbon with three white stripes on the medal buckle.
