The Baden War Merit Cross was donated by Grand Duke Friedrich II of Baden on September 9, 1916 and was intended as recognition of services to the armed forces and the general welfare of the state.

Appearance

The decoration is a bronze Johanniterkreuz , which shows in the middle a griffin with the coat of arms of Baden. A laurel wreath runs around the medallion between the cross angles . On the reverse the crowned and entwined initial of the donor F (Friedrich).

Carrying method

The award was worn on a red ribbon with a yellow side and a white border on the left chest.
