Kripper water tower

The Kripper water tower is located in the Kripp district of Remagen . It is located at Kripp's highest point on Weinbergstrasse.

Since the village wells were not always hygienically perfect, the authorities started working on the plan from around 1900 to replace them with a central municipal drinking water supply with a combined system of pumping equipment, waterworks, high-pressure reservoir and pipe system. The water tower was built in 1904.

In the 1970s the water tower lost its original function. In 1995 it was first placed under monument protection, but the protection status was lifted again before 2010. The head of the water tower has been removed. In 2013 pieces of concrete fell down, which led to the road being closed.
