Kristen Britain (* 1965 ) is an American writer . She became known through her fantasy series Der Grüne Reiter (original title Green Rider ).

Live and act

Britain grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, where she began her first novel at the age of nine - an underwater fantasy that features her and her friends. She published her first book, the comic book "Horses and Horsepeople", at the age of 13.

After graduating from Ithaca College with a minor in film production in 1987 , she started working for the National Park Service as a ranger in 1988 after speaking with a park ranger while visiting Women's Rights.

In October 2018 the author announced the book " The Dream Gatherer" , which will be published to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of "Grüner Reiter". This anthology contains the short stories " The Dream Gatherer", "Wishwind" and "Linked, on the Lake of Souls" .

Awards

Green Rider was nominated for the Crawford Award . The fourth volume in the series, Blackveil , was nominated for the David Gemmell Legend Award.
