Kristina Nurk

Kristina Nurk (born July 7, 1972 in Kohtla-Järve , then Estonian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Estonian fin swimmer .

Career

The two-time junior world champion won the gold medal over the 200 meter distance at the 1993 World Games . She was also successful with the Estonian relay. She won the silver medal over the 100 meter distance and the 400 meter distance. She won bronze medals at the world fin swimming championships in 1992 and 1996. In 1991 she became European champion. She also won two silver medals and two bronze medals at European championships. In the course of her career, she swam 32 Estonian championship titles. In 1997 she ended her active career.

In 1991 she was voted Sportswoman of the Year in Estonia .
