Krisztina Faludy

Krisztina Faludy (born May 29, 1958 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian bassoonist and professor of bassoon at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz .

Life

After graduating from high school “Béla Bartók”, Faludy studied at the “ Franz Liszt Music Academy Budapest” with Gábor Janota and from 1981 in Karl Kolbinger's master class . In 1984 she received her first engagement as principal bassoonist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Dortmund . A year later she became a bassoon lecturer at the Detmold University of Music , Dortmund and Münster department. She has worked with conductors such as Seiji Ozawa, Sir Colin Davis, Michael Tilson Thomas, Dirk Joeres and Heinz Wallberg and has performed with the “Westdeutsche Sinfonia” chamber orchestra. Furthermore, she gave master classes and workshops at various universities and at conferences.

Since 1997 she has been a full professor of bassoon at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
