Croatian Music Union
Hrvatska Glazbena Unija (German: Croatian Music Union) is a non-profit association of musicians in Croatia . The association informs its members about the rights they have with regard to their fees to be paid out or the protection of their intellectual property. Furthermore, the musicians are supported to regulate their status in the social insurance and to obtain visas and work permits abroad more easily.
Emergence
The Croatian Music Union emerged from the non-profit organization Croatian Band Aid . The aim of this association was to collect material aid for the refugees, the defense and the reconstruction of Croatia during the Croatian war . The musicians performed at the front, organized humanitarian concerts for the injured and displaced. In addition, many musicians also perform outside of Croatia to spread the truth about Croatia. The song Moja domovina (English: my home) unites the most famous Croatian artists in one song. The song is also one of the most successful songs ever.
At the end of 1992, the Croatian Music Union emerged from this project, the founders of which are among the most famous Croatian musicians. Croatian artists still record songs together for humanitarian projects.
