Kronen Zeitung - a tabloid piece every day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kronen Zeitung - a tabloid piece every day (French title: "Krone - L'Autriche entre les lignes") is a documentary by the Belgian Nathalie Borgers , which takes a critical look at the Kronen Zeitung , the newspaper with the highest circulation in Austria . The film was produced in 2002 . The documentation gives the viewer a look behind the scenes of the Kronen Zeitung. Among others, the following spoke: Krone editor Hans Dichand , Krone columnist Wolfgang Martinek , Bishop Kurt Krenn , the then Austrian President Thomas Klestil , the writer Robert Menasse , the journalist and FPÖ politician Andreas Mölzer , the ex-Vice Chancellor Erhard Busek ( ÖVP ), the former Federal Minister and Mayor of Vienna Helmut Zilk ( SPÖ ) and the politician Heide Schmidt (FPÖ) and ( LIF ).

Oddities

After the documentary was broadcast on the Franco-German cultural broadcaster ARTE , the Kronen Zeitung quickly decided to remove the station from its television program (which has since changed again). In 2005 the film was also shown on ATV . A further change in the television program did not take place thereafter. The fact that the film was not broadcast on ORF is seen by critics as a sign of the Kronen Zeitung's influence.
