Krotzen (geology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Krotzen are lava slag , during a volcanic eruption of liquid and enriched with many gases magma emerged.

Krotzen were used, among other things, to build houses because their porosity makes them easy to loosen and work on. For mining , the basalt contained in the Krotzen was considered to be of inferior quality than columnar basalt , which has a slower cooling and solidification time.
