Krzysztof Borek

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Krzysztof Borek (* around 1520 in Krakow ; † after 1573 there) was a Polish composer .

Little is known about Borek's circumstances. He was initially a choirboy, later a member and from 1556 to 1572 Kapellmeister of the Krakow court orchestra. Two five-part masses from him have come down to us, which are influenced by the Franco-Flemish school. They are among the few testimonies of Polish Renaissance music.
