Krzysztof Klabon
Krzysztof Klabon (* around 1550 probably in Königsberg ; † after 1616) was a Polish composer, lutenist and singer.
In his childhood Klabon was a singer and from 1565 a lutenist at the court of Sigismund II August in Krakow. From 1576 to 1601 he was director of the royal chapel , with a brief interruption by the Italian Luka Marenzio in 1596. His successor was Giulio Cesare Gabussi , and he himself remained a member afterwards. He is last mentioned on the occasion of a trip by the chapel to Sweden in 1616.
From Klabon's compositions a collection of lute songs based on Stanislaw Gorchowski under the title Piesni Slowienskiey: na teraznicysze pod Byczyna zwyciestwo , a five-part Kyrie paschalis and the soprano part of an Officium Sancta Maria have been preserved .
