Ball bearing motor

The ball bearing motor ( English ball bearing motor is) an engine consisting only of a ball bearing and a voltage source is. To do this, the voltage source is connected to the ball bearing in such a way that the current flows through the balls of the ball bearing; the ball bearing must first (e.g. by hand) be set in a rotation for the push. The ball bearing works with DC voltage as well as AC voltage and also under water.

The current through the ball bearings is so great that the balls heat up noticeably and, depending on the direction of rotation, deform asymmetrically thermally .

The motor has no practical application because of its negligible efficiency. It is a curiosity that in the past gave rise to many attempts at physical explanation ( e.g. unipolar motor ).
