Ballpoint pen knives are fixed-blade knives that are designed in the shape of a ballpoint pen . The blade is only visible after removing or unscrewing the rear cap. Ballpoint pen knives can be regulated differently depending on the state. In Germany , ballpoint pen knives with a short, one-sided blade are not considered prohibited items within the meaning of Section 2 WaffG , as such knives are unsuitable for powerful impact.
