Kulango (people)

The Kulango are a people in Ivory Coast and Ghana who are divided into two groups.

The Kulango-Bouna live in Ghana in the central west on the border with Burkina Faso. The number of Kulango-Bouna is given between 15,500 and 22,000. Alternatively, they are also called Nkuraeng , Buna Kulango or Bouna Koulango . About 188,000 Bouna live in the Ivory Coast. In total there are around 210,000 Bouna living in both countries.

The Kulango-Bondoukou live in Ghana in the central west on the border with Ivory Coast in the area of ​​the city of Wenchi . The number of Kulango-Bondoukou is given in Ghana between 27,000 and 29,000. Alternatively, they are also called Nkurang , Nkuraeng , Nkurange , Koulango , Kulange , Kolango or Bonduku Kulango . About 102,000 Bondoukou live in the Ivory Coast. The total number of Bondoukou in both countries is 131,000.

They all speak the Kulango as their mother tongue .
