properties

The ripening of the kumato happens from within, which means that it is available in stores as brown-green to red-brown tomatoes. Optimal ripening is achieved when the tomato is reddish-brown in color with a slight green color at the base of the stem. The Kumato is characterized by its intense aroma and its long shelf life. It is not a genetically modified tomato variety, but a hybrid breeding from different European tomato varieties.
