The Art Museum Ystad ( Swedish Ystads Konstmuseum ) is an art museum in the Swedish city ​​of Ystad .

The museum building is located on the north side of St Knuts torg in the south-eastern part of Ystad's old town.

The building was erected in a functionalist style in 1936 on the occasion of the internationally important leisure fair . In terms of content, the museum is primarily concerned with regional art history. There are important works from southern Sweden and Denmark from the 20th and 21st centuries. These include works by Karin Mamma Andersson , Ola Billgren , CO Hultén , Lisa Jeannin , Ludvig Kartsten , Viktor Kopp , Peter Lergaard , Minako Masui , Bengt Orup , Greta Sandberg , Lisa Strömbeck , Astrid Svangren , Charlotte Wallentin , Gerhard Wihlborg and John Wipp . There is also an extensive collection of photographs, including a daguerreotype from 1845. An exhibition Tänd mörkret looks at Swedish art from 1975 to 1985. Art performances and concerts are also held in the house .

The director of the museum is Yrr Jonasdottir , who succeeded Thomas Millroth, who was in office from 1995 to 2008 .

The museum has a café and a museum shop. The Ystad tourist office is also located in the building.
