Iris Murray

Iris Murray , née Iris Rathmaier (born April 24, 1978 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian show jumper .

Career

Iris Murray graduated from BORG Dornbirn-Schoren at the age of 18 , after which she studied for three years at PÄDAK in Feldkirch and Innsbruck with a focus on English and business .

She then managed a stud in Tyrol for two years , with her main tasks being the training and sale of young horses. At the end of 2001, the 23-year-old moved to Switzerland, where she first worked for two years as a flight attendant and then as a teacher at a private school . After that she devoted herself entirely to riding.

In 2005 the first victories in jumping competitions of the S level followed , in 2009 world ranking points and placements in grand prizes. Since 2010 she has also been among the top ten of the Top of Austria list of show jumpers .

Private

Murray is married. She met her husband, who works as a manager in the IT industry, while working as a flight attendant. From the spring of 2013 Murray will operate his own riding facility in Korneuburg near Vienna.
