Kuratenhaus Maria Taferl

The so-called Kuratenhaus is the parsonage of the Maria Taferl pilgrimage church in the market town of Maria Taferl in Lower Austria and has been a branch of the Oblati Mariae Immaculatae since 1969 .

architecture

The elongated, two-story baroque building stands in the west of the pilgrimage church. It was built in 1708, increased in 1716 and renovated in 1766. The 15-axis front has two portal porches with round gables and arched portals. The windows on the ground floor have wrought iron bars, on the upper floor window baskets, around 1730. The ground floor has stitch cap vaults, the upper floor flat ceilings.

Furnishing

There is an imperial room with Rococo furnishings, mentioned in a document in 1771. There are pictures with the portraits of Emperor Joseph II around 1785, Empress Maria Theresia with Franz von Lothringen, Cardinal Leopold Freiherr von Firmian around 1770/72. There are the oil paintings Last Supper by Martin Johann Schmidt from 1799 and David with the zither after 1790. There is also a picture Siege of the city of Krems by the French in 1809 .
