Spa gardens

The Kurpark in Mölln is one of the few gardens of post-war modernism, it was designed by the Hamburg garden architect Gustav Lüttge . The facility was opened in 1968 and placed under monument protection in 2007. From 2009 to 2011 a renovation and redesign of the buildings and gardens costing 2.5 million euros and funded 70% by the state of Schleswig-Holstein was carried out.

investment

The spa park covers around 40,000 m² and is bordered in the north by the Mühlengraben and a forest section in the south, which also houses the Möllner water tower . The western part of the park was built according to the original plans. In it there is a rhododendron garden, a Japanese garden, the pergola courtyard with the owl mirror rose and a spacious lawn. The eastern part of the site has been reworked from a modern perspective. There are several lawns and flower beds and interesting themed gardens (including a rose garden, food garden, herb garden, exercise garden). Art objects such as the Eulenspiegel head or anvil were designed by the artist Andreas Rimkus from Springe. The St. Nicolai Church and various other Mölln landmarks are within sight .

Recreational facilities

There is a mini golf course in the spa park, and events take place regularly. With the redesign, a chess field and mill board were installed. A boule court was also laid out.
