A rate system is a system ( program ) that displays or delivers stock exchange rates . The prices can be delivered in real time (without delay) or with a delay. When the data is delivered without delay, one speaks of a real-time rate system (also called a real-time rate system).

A price system usually offers a graphical user interface with price lists in which the price data of several securities are displayed.
