Kurt-Adolf Thelen

Kurt-Adolf Thelen (born March 9, 1911 in Homberg; † January 17, 1990 ) was a German singer, composer and lyricist. He was best known in the 1950s as an interpreter of carnival songs such as Ash Wednesday is all over and drinking songs. Together with the Golgowsky Quartet , the Sunshine Quartet as well as Will Glahé and his wind orchestra , Thelen had a number one hit in Germany in 1954 with the song On May 30th is the end of the world . He also recorded various songs with Trude Herr . He was nicknamed the Singing Cellar Master .
