Short answers to big questions (English title letter Answers to the Big Questions ) is a 2018 published popular science book , which by physicist Stephen Hawking was written. It was number 1 on the Spiegel bestseller list from October 27 to November 23, 2018 .

Since the book was published posthumously , it is known as Hawking's Legacy.

In Short Answers to Big Questions , a big question of existence from Hawking's point of view is answered in each chapter and explained in a thorough and understandable way. He also gives advice to mankind through the book. The book is aimed at a lay audience as well as experts and explains the physical relationships in a sometimes humorous way, although quite succinctly, but always vividly and thus offers a first glimpse into contemporary physics. It shows Stephen Hawking's thoughts about the universe and how humanity should act.
