Kyichu Lhakhang (also Kyerchu Lhakhang) is a Buddhist temple in pagoda construction in Paro District in the western part of the Kingdom of Bhutan . The complex, which was probably founded in the 7th century by Songtsen Gampo , is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Bhutan, which was intended to tame the giant demoness . Kyichu Lhakhang is u. a. known for his old Bodhisattva statues in the chancel.

On the temple grounds there are two temples which are identical in design. The older temple was built by King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century. The temple acquired a further historical significance in the 13th century when it was placed under the administration of the Drukpa. The temple strengthened Buddhist influence in the region.

The second temple was built in 1968. This is an exact copy of the first temple from the 7th century. The interiors of the temples are richly decorated and decked out.
