Kyirong Chöde

Kyirong Chöde Monastery ( Tib . : chos sde, Qoide Chinese  曲 德 寺 , Pinyin Qūdé sì ) is one of the four Buddhist monasteries in Kyirong County in Shigatse Governorate in the southwest of the Tibet Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China . It originally belonged to the Nyingma School and since the 17th century to the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism ( Vajrayana ). It is at an altitude of over 4,000 meters.

The monastery, which dates back to the 10th century, has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-408) since 2001 .
